Andrey Ivanovich
GOLOVIN
Andrey Golovin was born in 1950 in Moscow. In 1976 he graduated
from the Moscow Conservatory (the composition class of Professor
Evgeny Golubev, instrumentation class of Professor Yuri
Fortunatov).
Among the Golovin's works: opera "The First Love" (on the novel by Ivan
Turgenev), four symphonies, Canto
d'attesa for Violin and Orchestra, "The Simple Songs"
(Cantata on poems by Nikolay Rubtsov for mezzo-soprano, bass,
Piano and Chamber orchestra), Eight
Poems of Count Vassily Komorowsky for Soprano and
Orchestra, Music for Strings,
Canzona for Cello and
String Orchestra, as well as chamber music and vocal works,
pieces for piano, choirs, music for theater productions, films
and TV.
Golovin's music was performed in Germany, Austria, Finland,
France, Italy, UK, Poland, Greece, and the USA.
In 1998, Golovin was awarded by the Prize of Moscow (in the
field of literature and the arts) for his opera "The First
Love".
In 2004, at the Russian film festival "Kinotavr" composer
received the Award "For the best music for the film " (film
"About a Love" directed by Sergei Solovyov) .
Since 1994, Andrey Golovin performs as a conductor of his own
works.
The scores of Golovin's music is published by such publishers as
Muzyka, Soviet Composer,
Alphons Leduce, Supraphon, Zen-On Music Co., Musikproduktion
Höflich München. The recordings with Andrey Golovin's
works appeared on the CDs by such labes as Boheme Music, Arts and
Electronics, Cadenza, Relief. The Russian label Melodiya released four CDs
with the music of Andrey Golovin.
